The NANO-POLE® Filter holds a significant place in the MPG’s line of Tunable Filters. As a next-generation device, the NANO-POLE® Tunable Filter delivers optimal DC consumption, RF power handling, insertion loss, signal purity and linearity in a slim lightweight design.

Frequency Range: HF, UHF, VHF, L band, S band from 225 MHz to 3000 MHZ.

About The Technology

NANO-POLE®

Offering a 2-pole, Q-constant design, MPG’s NANO-POLE® Tunable Filter provides a close approximation to a Butterworth response, to ensure solid all-around performance in a slim package size. A pin-diode switched binary capacitor array placed in parallel with a high Q inductor or resonator enables the tunable SPI customer interface, for high versatility and performance.

NANO-POLE® Filter frequency: HF, UHF, VHF, L band, S band from 225 MHz to 3000 MHZ.

NANO-POLE® Filter features: NANO-POLE Tunable Filters are available in bandwidths from 3-12% with insertion loss of 2.5 to 8.33. Filters can be constructed in x to x sections with an available Q range of x GHZ to x GHz , in tunable bandpass or band reject notch designs.

Frequency: HF, UHF, VHF, L band, S band from 225 MHz to 3000 MHZ.

Features: NANO-POLE® Tunable Filters are available in bandwidths from 3-12% with insertion loss of 2.5 to 8.33.

With high power in a small package, the NANO-POLE® Tunable Filter offers the following advantages:

  • Easily tunable device via a simple SPI customer interface
  • +30 dBm in-band power handling: for BW3dB filters ≥ 7%. +27 dBm for 5% filters. +23 dBm for 3% filters
  • 10 µs typical tune time
  • Ultra-small package sizing measuring 0.78” x 0.47” x 0.3” (20 mm x 12 mm x 7.62 mm)
  • 15 dBc typical selectivity at 𝑓 𝑐 ±10%: 5%, 3% filters provide more selectivity; yet have higher insertion loss
