Mitigating Self-Generated Communications Interference
Inadequate isolation between a transmitter and a receiver in a cosite environment results in the receiver’s diminished ability to process a weak desired signal- a condition termed “desensitization”.
Pole/Zero’s Integrated Cosite Equipment (ICE) represents an evolution of our standard filter products through utilization of various standard filter elements to achieve highly integrated designs. ICE typically incorporates a cascade of tunable filter modules and low noise amplifiers to provide excellent selectivity throughout the tuning range. It provides high dynamic range performance for operation in medium to high level cosite environments. ICE often incorporates output power limiting in receive paths and low broadband noise power amplifiers in transmit paths to achieve narrowband filtering in the presence of high level interferers.
The MEGA-POLE filter series covers the standard frequency bands within the 30 to 512 MHz range. This new filter series provides excellent selectivity while maintaining very low insertion loss. The product line also has exceptional RF power handling capability with a high third order intercept point. The MEGA-POLE filter series can be used for transmitter applications to reduce power amplifier noise, harmonics and intermodulation products, to provide bi-directional filtering directly at a transceiver’s antenna port, or other applications requiring extremely linear, high power RF bandpass filtering. It has been designed for rugged military environments per MIL-STD-810.
The ICE2003 is a half duplex transmit and receive filter/amplifier tunable across the 30 to 512 MHz range. Its lightweight design, primarily intended for UAV applications, provides a high level of performance. The control interface supports the ARC-210 radio type. The ICE2003 is cooled by an internal fan that draws ambient air.
The ICE2004 will simultaneously cancel up to eight interferers in your 30 to 512 MHz receive path without the need for cumbersome reference signals from local transmitters. The product provides a low loss RF path with the capacity to quickly acquire and cancel up to eight on or off board cosite emitters, both fixed frequency and agile. A comprehensive user interface enables this unit to be completely tailored to your system needs, or it can also operate autonomously based on factory settings.
